Escaped from the cold weather in Europe at the end of September for a 5.5 days trip in San Francisco. Not the first time, nor second time visiting, but I was quite excited to see my college friends and try all the Asian food I could in such a short amount of time. Some of my favorite spots:
Spot #1: Boba Guys
Heard about this popular bubble tea shop for quite awhile. Finally, get to taste it. What’s even better? You get to choose your sweetness level. 50% for me.
Spot #2: SFMOMA
Lots of very interactive installation. One of my favorites is the floating porcelain bowls in a water pond by French artist Céleste boursier-mougenot. You could sit down and listen to the crisp clicks.
Spot #3: Lands End
Lands End is a nice spot within the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. If you have more time, would be nice to hike around the Lands end trial. It is also a great spot to take pictures of the iconic Golden Gate Bridge.
Spot #4: Uji Time
If you love ice-cream, red bean, tofu, sesame, matcha or all of the above, this is the place to get your sweet treat.
Spot #5: HOME
Wouldn’t find this place if we hadn’t missed our afternoon-tea reservation at Neiman Marcus. Nordic style decoration and the names of the drinks are amusing… They also have colorful and creative latte art that is super instagrammable.
Spot #6: Local edition
An underground lounge at downtown SF-Market street. Unnoticeable entrance, just like any speakeasy bar. Good cocktails, vintage settings, and a bit loud yet still manageable for conversation.
Spot #7: Sam Wo Restaurant
Authentic and delicious, as in eating at a local food place in Hong Kong. ❤ Duck dry mixed noodle
Spot #8: R&G Lounge
Cantonese food that needs RSVP. Try the Crab with salt & pepper and Geoduck Sashimi.
Spot #9: The view lounge
Walk around the lounge, you would have a 360-degree view of San Francisco. Best time to go: during sunset.
Spot #10: Philz Coffee
Haven’t had a ‘normal’ size to-go coffee for awhile 🙂 Mint mojito is my choice.
Hope you enjoy the list. Ciao San Francisco, till next time.
San Francisco is poetry.
Even the hills rhyme.
