Firenze | Florence

Florence Cathedral

Firenze is in the heart region of where European Renaissance begin during 14-16th century. It has cultivated many well know artist, poet and architects, such as Michelangelo,  Filippo Brunelleschi, Dante, Giorgio Vasari.

To me,  It’s a place with magic power, where you fell in love in first sight. The first time I visited Firenze, it was raining and this did not bother at all. Instead of living there, I would like to visit it again and again.

The city now is a bit dead comparing to its heyday, when the family of Medici was still ruling region. Through commerce, the Medici family gathered their wealth and further influenced religion, international politics and art with its family member and power back in the days. You can still feel the Medici legacy surrounding the town. Go visit the Plalazzo Pitti that was bought by Medici family,  it will give you a better idea.

I was told that many (to-be) architects will make a trip to Firenze just to see the design and structure of this astonishing dome that took over 100 years to build.

Not too surprise, Firenze is also the home of Gucci. Take a short tour at the museum, it illustrates how the brand Gucci evolved over the decades.
