Michelle Goes To Bali: The Wonderful W

Each area in Bali has its own characteristics. For this short trip we managed to stay in two areas: Seminyak and Ubud. It was our first time staying in Seminyak. Many say it is the chic version of Kuta. For me the best word to described this area is sophisticated. Though one may not agree with me from the first sight, I truly think once you get the chance to explore it you will fall in love with this place.

Now back to the resort that I stayed in during those two nights in Seminyak. We stayed in W Hotel Bali (W Retreat & Spa Bali.) It is a relatively new resort as it was established in 2011. Upon arrival, we were immediately charmed by the design and ambience of the resort. The decor is both contemporary and vibrant. I love the use of colors, and the beautiful view from of the lobby. I also love the fact that there are so many places that you can chill with a book and enjoy a mojito.

There are two types of accommodation that you can choose from: the hotel rooms and suites, and the villas. For this trip we stay at a one bedroom pool villa. The villa is spacious and inviting which is consistent with the W essence throughout the hotel. Like many villas in Bali, it has a big pool and a gazebo. We definitely felt relaxed and rejuvenated during our stay.

At night one can have a romantic dinner at the Starfish Bloo terrace enjoy the sound of the ocean waves and the soothing Balinese wind. After dinner one can head to Woo bar to enjoy fruity shisha and their drink specialties. The night doesn’t end there. There are various events throughout the week where the Dj plays dance or lounge music to spice up the night at this beautiful setting.

I was impressed with the staff and their services. We celebrated my boyfriend’s birthday on the first night. They did exactly what I asked them to do to surprise him. All and all, it was a good experience like I had with many. If you are looking for a place that has the energy of Kuta and the sophisticated trendy vibe of Seminyak, W probably has the best of both worlds.

p.s. the breakfast here at delicious!
